Steve Gavras, RCP, LVN CEO & Founder Steve Gavras is a Respiratory Therapist and part owner of New West Medical. Steve has been working as a Respiratory Therapist since he earned his degree in 1982 after leaving the military. Although he started his career in the hospital setting, he has spent the last twenty years in the home care field because he enjoys patient interaction and being able to give patients the long term care and assistance they need. Opening his own business is Steve’s way of ensuring that he can continue to provide a level of service that is appropriate for patients facing life changes. He and New West Medical are committed to making every effort to continue a level of service that allows their patients to maintain an acceptable quality of life. To date, this commitment has been fulfilled. Steve comments that while his career requires hard work, it is also a labor of love. Tony Lewis President & Founder Tony Lewis is a co-owner and President of New West Medical. You could say that Tony entered the respiratory business from the ground level. While finishing his degree in Biological Sciences, Tony started working as a warehouse maintenance technician at a durable medical equipment supplier. He then moved up through the jobs of Patient Support Technician, and Branch Manager to finally discover Sales and Marketing. He enjoyed coordinating patient care with primary physicians and making sure that patients received the equipment and care they needed. However, Tony felt he could provide better products and service if he opened his own local company that would give more control of patient care and equipment options. Tony opened New West Medical with Steve Gavras because of his reputation as the best homecare Respiratory Therapist in the North State.  Twelve years in the respiratory business means that Tony has developed relationships with the local physicians and hospitals. Many local physicians refer to New West Medical because they know they can rely on Tony to keep them updated with new information and ensure that their patients receive the best care and services.
